The November Issue of British Vogue is titled "Dash Cash": it is not simply to buy inexpensive clothes, but to use imagination to put the whole look together. In the shoot "Make Do & Mend" 3 brilliant stylists have transformed everyday objects into extraordinary fashion pieces. It's about creative solutions borne out of necessity. One of the coolest concepts for a magazine shoot for a long while.... BRILLIANT!
Shopping Bags in different patterns
White Outfit: Paper Doilies, cupcake papers & plastic table cloth. Black & Yellow Outfit: Black Glad wrap for body con dress, bath plug polka dots, with rubber glove voluminous shoulder jacket & matching headpiece.
Candy Coloured Outfit: Cotton wool balls in candy colours (about 6 000 of them) & loo rolls to make wedge heels. Pink Stripe Outfit: Striped paper bags held together with stiky tape worn back with a cardboard hat!
White Fringing Outfit: 45 Mop heads, with a shirt made from floor cloths & wooden pegs. Patchwork Outfit: Cotton tea towels make a cute shirtdress, complete with wooden peg necklace.
Check Outfit: 9 teatowels stitched together to make a corset. White Outfit: Doona dress, sinched in with curtain ties & 10 hot water bottles.
Raid your cupboard & get creating!
